Journal

My artwork is inspired heavily by the shapes and patterns I see in nature. In a way, each artwork is like a puzzle. I break down different elements of a whole and put the shapes back together to create a composition. I bring patterns and colors side-by-side with one another; comparing, sensing, imagining. My goal is to create something that is not quite spelled out to the viewer; something that holds a particular aura but is still unique to each person; something that brings the viewer to a place where they seek familiarity within the pattern or the attitudes of the colors. Each journal entry is a small window into my process and the stories behind my work.

Making Bugs and Rugs...

I like to think of my process as a story. Developing, shifting, forming... Each of my works has it's own unique story and meaning that emerges as the work takes shape.
